Tlaxcala has musical traditions connected to town festivals, religious celebrations, dance groups, and community ensembles. Wind bands and music accompanying regional dances form part of this varied landscape, although their repertories and instrumentation differ between localities. Apizaco, rural communities, and the state’s other municipalities should not be understood as sharing one uniform musical identity. This category gathers recordings associated with Tlaxcala and provides a geographic route toward more specific information about their performers, places of origin, and occasions. When a record identifies a community or dance tradition, those details are more informative than a broad state label alone.
