Corpus Christi is a Catholic feast that, in different Mexican communities, may involve processions, dances, bands, and locally rooted ritual repertoires. Its sound varies with the calendar, community organization, and relationships between religious practices and Indigenous histories. There is no single Corpus Christi music shared across the country. This category locates recordings associated with the feast and allows different forms of celebration to be compared. Where known, catalogue entries should identify the locality, date, dance or ensemble involved, and the particular moment of the ritual documented. A recording of a procession and one of a staged performance may have very different contexts.
