The tenor saxophone is a single-reed wind instrument, usually pitched in B-flat, with a lower range than the alto saxophone. Mexican recordings feature it in jazz, wind bands, dance orchestras, and popular-music ensembles. Its tone can move from soft sustained lines to forceful attacks and improvised phrases.
