Coahuila lies within a zone of exchange between northeastern Mexico and the United States border. Accordion and bajo sexto dance music, corridos, and local band traditions coexist with repertoires from urban and rural settings. The state’s industrial and migratory history has also shaped the circulation of performers and recordings. This category brings together material connected with Coahuila without reducing it to a single norteño genre.
