A drum kit combines several percussion instruments for one performer, typically including bass drum, snare, toms, and cymbals. Its configuration changed throughout the twentieth century and continues to adapt to particular repertories and techniques. In Mexico it appears in jazz, rock, tropical music, pop, and experimental projects, with different approaches to pulse, improvisation, and texture.
